Super Eagles goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali, will be available for Friday’s Africa Cup of Nations quarter-final fixture against Angola at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium, Abidjan.
The 27-year-old shot-stopper was stretched off in Nigeria’s Round of 16 victory against Cameroon, sparking rumours he could miss the crucial game against the Black Antelopes.
According to All Nigeria Soccer, Nwabali has now been given the all-clear by the Super Eagles medics after a series of treatment and physical fitness tests to ascertain his readiness.
The medical team believes the injury suffered by the Chippa United goalkeeper was not as severe as first feared and has declared the 27-year-old fully fit to appear against Angola.

Nwabali has appeared in all of Nigeria’s games so far at the AFCON and is on course to make his fifth consecutive appearance if named in the Super Eagles' starting line-up against the Black Antelopes.

Meanwhile, Moses Simon has said the Super Eagles will do their best to beat Angola when both teams clash in the quarter-finals of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, Complete Sports reports.
Nigeria, bidding to win a fourth continental trophy, will battle for a place in the semi-final against the Black Antelopes at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium, Abidjan on Friday, February 2.
The Super Eagles enter the last-eight tie against Angola as heavy favourites to advance, having defeated big countries like Ivory Coast and Cameroon in the previous rounds.

FootballEarlier, Sports Brief reported that Super Eagles manager Jose Peseiro disclosed that Nwabali underwent an MRI scan to confirm the extent and seriousness of the goalkeeper’s injury.
The Portuguese tactician confirmed the injury to the Chippa United goalie was not as serious as first feared by the technical crew but had not confirmed if the 27-year-old would be available to face Angola.
Nwabali has played all of Nigeria’s games at the Africa Cup of Nations, becoming a key member of the squad and has become a fan favourite due to his performances for the team.
