Rodri made it 3-0 shortly after the break, with Ameen Al-Dakhil scoring Burnley's consolation at stoppage time.

De Bruyne hits Premier League milestone

Besides City's emphatic win in the tie, De Bruyne was one of the other biggest talking points after the Belgian hit yet another milestone.

According to the Premier League, the 32-year-old has now bagged 104 assists in the English topflight, with the tally having him ranking third in the all-time assist's standings.

The former Wolfsburg star bagged his 104th assist against Burnley to eclipse Wayne Rooney's 103.

The Belgium international now needs just seven more assists to overtake second-placed Cesc Fabregas on the list.

However, he has some work to do if he is to move to the top, with Man United legend Ryan Giggs the leading player with the most assists in the EPL at 162.

Meanwhile, City's latest victory over Burnley has them sitting second in the charts with 46 points after 21 games.

De Bruyne leaves Burnley defence in tatters

Earlier, Sports Brief reported on De Bruyne's piece of skill that left the Burnley defence flat-footed during their EPL meeting.

It almost looked like De Bruyne would cross the ball in the box, but he instead picked Alvarez with a perfectly weighted ground pass, with the young striker getting the job done.
