Kenyan footballer Lewis Shivachi has completed a transfer to Albanian First Division club FK Apolonia.
The 22-year-old striker has reportedly secured a one-year deal.
Shivachi departs from Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League side Posta Rangers for Albania.
Kibera Black Stars defender, Kevin Taiwo and Kariobangi Sharks midfielder, Kevin Wanganya, are also set to join Apolonia.
Formerly with Ligi Ndogo, Shivachi quickly made a mark in the Kenyan league.
His noteworthy debut last season in a goalless draw against Sofapaka highlighted his potential, paving the way for his international move.
Shivachi's agent, Rashidi Kenneth, revealed details of the young striker’s move.
"Shivachi departed from the country early in the morning for Tirana after signing a deal. Two other Kenyans are on their way to join the team," Rashidi said, as quoted on Pulse Sports.
The transfer mirrors the trend of Kenyan forwards seeking football success in Albania, with players like Kenneth Muguna and Ismail Dunga among the notable ones.
Fifth in the Albania First Division, FK Apolonia has 27 points after 18 rounds of matches.
Having scored 28 goals this season, the team expects Shivachi to significantly boost their offence as they strive for a top spot in the league.
Another Kenyan striker moves
Shivachi's move follows the recent signing of Harambee Stars winger Ayub Timbe with Azerbaijan top-flight club Sabail FK, as reported on their Facebook page.
With a rich background playing for clubs like Genk, Lierse, Beijing Renhe, Reading, Vissel Kobe, and Buriram United, Timbe brings a wealth of experience to Sabail.
