FootballNeymar: Brazilian Star Shakes Up Social Media For Reportedly Being Overweight
- Neymar is currently injured with a ruptured ACL and is only expected back in August
- Fans have spotted the Brazilian's weight gain as he spends time away from the pitch
- The playmaker joined Al-Hilal in August 2023 and only made five appearances for the side
Football fans have spotted Neymar Junior sporting a fuller figure as he continues his rehab from an ACL tear.
The 31-year-old, who became a part of Al-Hilal in the previous summer, experienced a tear in the anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus of his left leg.
In August 2023, the Blue Waves invested 90 million euros to acquire the ex-Santos prodigy from PSG, envisioning the Brazilian as a key cornerstone in their upcoming project.
However, a serious cruciate ligament injury suffered in October while playing for Brazil limited the striker to only five appearances in the Al Hilal blue jersey, during which Neymar scored one goal for the Saudi side.
Per Diario AS, the Brazilian's market value has also witnessed a steep decline, currently standing at €45 million ($49 million), which is €15 million less than his value when he signed last summer, as reported by Transfermarkt. This marks an all-time low since he departed Santos.
Neymar's physical transformation causes stir
Neymar was seen at a party alongside fellow countryman Romario, and the two former Barcelona players posed for a photograph, Marca reported.
He was dressed in an oversized black t-shirt with a black jacket layered over it, engaging in conversation with Romario.
The ex-PSG star's physical appearance was much commented on online.
Fans promptly noticed the superstar's physical condition following his time on the sidelines for several months.

Sports Brief reported earlier that Al-Hilal manager, Jorge Jesus recently aimed a jibe at Neymar while praising Al-Nassr captain, Cristiano Ronaldo.
Jesus deliberated on the factors that distinguished the two players when he asserted that Ronaldo possessed a greater passion for football than Neymar.
