Luis Suarez scored his first goal in Inter Miami colours in a thrilling pre-season friendly clash against Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Hilal.

Suarez, who turned 37 on January 24, started alongside old Barcelona teammates Lionel Messi, Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets against the Saudi League leaders.

This was his third game for Inter Miami, as he fired blanks in his first appearance; a 0-0 draw with El Salvador national team and FC Dallas.

The Uruguayan’s goal came in the 34th minute as he scored with a close-range tap-in after some excellent work from Jordi Alba.

Suarez had a brief heart-in-mouth moment as the goal was chopped off for an initial offside call, with the former Liverpool man leading the Inter Miami protests.

Replays showed that while Suarez was in an offside position when the ball was played, the ball had in fact been kicked by Al-Hilal defender Mohammed Jahfali.

After a check from VAR, the goal was allowed to stand as Inter Miami halved the deficit after initially going 2-0 down from goals by Aleksandar Mitrovic and Abdullah Al-Hamdan.

How the game went

Before half-time, Al-Hilal restored their two-goal advantage through Michael, but there was more drama to come in the second half as the MLS side Inter Miami restored parity through two quick-fire goals by Lionel Messi and David Ruiz.

Al-Hilal however had the last laugh as they found the winner late on as former Barcelona forward Malcon found the net in the 88th minute.
