Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta's future at the club has been clarified amid rumours the Spaniard is plotting an exit.
Arteta became the latest big name to be linked with a surprise departure at the end of the season after Xavi and Jurgen Klopp announced their plans to leave their respective clubs in the summer.
Sport claimed that the former midfielder has divulged to his close associates his intentions to dump the Gunners once the 2023/24 campaign ends.
The rumour emerged barely a day after Xavi disclosed that he would be departing Camp Nou, sparking speculation Barcelona could move in for Arteta to replace their club legend.
Barcelona president Joan Laporta is understood to be a huge admirer of Arteta and believes he would be a good fit for the Catalan giants.
Could Arteta dump Arsenal?
However, it has now emerged that Arteta has no plans to walk away from Arsenal in the foreseeable future.
According to Sky Sports, the 41-year-old, who is contracted at the Emirates Stadium until 2025, intends to continue serving at the club beyond the summer.
Arteta was appointed as Arsenal's head coach in December 2019 and guided the North Londoners to FA Cup success a year later.
The Spaniard had previously served as Pep Guardiola's assistant at Manchester City before he took up the Arsenal role to replace Unai Emery.
He came close to guiding the Gunners to Premier League glory last season but missed out on the title by a whisker.
