Black Stars defender, Alidu Seidu travelled with his mother to France ahead of his move to Ligue 1 side Stade Rennais in the winter transfer window.

The 23-year-old has reportedly agreed a deal to join The Red and Blacks from French league rivals Clermont Foot.

Seidu, who made just a single appearance at the Africa Cup of Nations, is expected to put pen to paper early this week.

In photos shared on social media, the versatile defender is seen in the company of his mother as they left Ghana for France.

His mother is expected to be in attendance during his unveiling after the deal is completed.

The JMG Academy graduate has been in fine form since arriving in France in 2019, helping Clermont Foot secure promotion to the Ligue 1, per Transfermarkt.

He has been a consistent performer for the club in the top division, earning him interest from several clubs in Europe.

Seidu was a member of Ghana's squad at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar 2022, making two appearances as Ghana exited the tournament at the group stage.

Seidu shares admiration for Sergio Ramos

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Ghana defender Alidu Seidu disclosed his admiration for former Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain centre-back Sergio Ramos.

The Clermont Foot player played against the World Cup winner during his time in Ligue 1.

According to Seidu, it was a memorable moment in his career, facing the man he idolised while growing up.

Salisu apologises to Ghanaians after AFCON exit

Sports Brief also reported that Black Stars defender Mohammed Salisu has shared his disappointment following Ghana's early Africa Cup of Nations exit in Cote d'Ivoire.

The AS Monaco star also took the opportunity to apologise to the media for his actions after the game against Mozambique in Abidjan.

Ghana were knocked out of the 2023 AFCON after failing to win a game in Group B of the tournament.
