FootballCristiano Ronaldo: When Al Nassr Star Named His Favourite XI of Teammates Ahead of Messi Clash
- Cristiano Ronaldo compiled a list of the best eleven teammates in his career
- Ronaldo has played for five clubs, including two spells at Manchester United
- Real Madrid players dominate the list, with only one Juventus player making the cut
Cristiano Ronaldo previously revealed a list of the eleven best teammates he has played with in his long and illustrious career.
Ronaldo will go down as one of the most successful footballers in history, with his five Ballon d'Or titles only bettered by Lionel Messi. His career has taken him to Sporting Lisbon, Manchester United(twice), Real Madrid, Juventus and Al-Nassr.
He is set to face Messi's Inter Miami in a friendly game on February 1, though doubts remain on his availability after he sustained a groin injury.
Of the five clubs he has been at, his major successes came during his nine years in Spain, where he won every available trophy, plus a couple of individual awards. It is, therefore, not surprising to see that a good chunk of his best XI includes his former teammates at Los Blancos, as captured by Planet Football.
In goal, the Portuguese icon went with Iker Casillas, whom he played with at Real Madrid. It was a tough choice to make as the 38-year-old has also shared a dressing room with other greats like Edwin van de Sar and Gianluigi Buffon.
Sergio Ramos, Rio Ferdinand, Giorgio Chiellini and Marcelo are the four defenders in Ronaldo's team. Chiellini is the only Juventus player who made the cut.
Casemiro snubbed
Paul Scholes got the nod ahead of Casemiro in central midfield, but Ronaldo settled on the other two go-to Real Madrid pairing of Luka Modric and Toni Kroos.
"I think everyone will agree that Cristiano was one of the best, if not the best, player for Real Madrid. Everything that he did and achieved in Real Madrid in eight or nine years, how long he was here, was something out of this world," said Modric in a past interview on Sporkskeeda.
