Black Stars defender Mohammed Salisu has shared his disappointment following Ghana's early Africa Cup of Nations exit in Cote d'Ivoire.
The AS Monaco star also took the opportunity to apologise to the media for his actions after the game against Mozambique in Abidjan.
Ghana were knocked out of the 2023 AFCON after failing to win a game in Group B of the tournament.
With the Black Stars needing a win to progress, the four-time African champions shockingly threw away a two-goal with six minutes left to draw with Mozambique.
"It is with the deepest regret that I am writing to you about our disappointing campaign in the 2023 AFCON," he wrote on Instagram.
"As you all know we went with the intention of bringing the trophy home but it was rather unfortunate that we were eliminated from the tournament in the group stage. We gave absolutely everything but we were unable to secure the necessary wins to keep us in the tournament," he added.
"Aside from all, I feel so disappointed that I couldn’t help my country to regain its past glory. With full assurance, we promise to come back stronger in our next game for our beloved country."
After the match at the Alassane Outarra Stadium in Ebimpe, Abidjan, the former Southampton star was involved in a heated spat with the media after the players refused to speak at the Mixed Zone.
He continued: "My actions to the media was out of frustration. We went to the 2023 AFCON to win the trophy but things didn’t go as planned. Everyone will bear me witness the last game was unacceptable so the fans have every right to criticize us but not to the extent of insult and threats.

Football"Nevertheless, I want to render an unqualified apology to whoever I offend. We never wanted this result. We will come stronger. Thank you for your tremendous support," he concluded.
Following Ghana's exit, the Ghana Football Association immediately dissolved the technical team, as reported by the BBC.
Kudus apologises to Ghanaians after AFCON exit
Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Mohammed Kudus penned a heartfelt apology to Ghanaians following the Black Stars' early Africa Cup of Nations elimination.
Ghana were knocked out of the tournament after a last-minute collapse in their final game against Mozambique last Monday.
The four-time African champions, who were on the verge of finishing second in Group B, threw away a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 in injury time.
