- Guardiola was questioned about his own future at Klopp's news
Pep Guardiola has addressed his own future at Manchester City after his counterpart, Jurgen Klopp, announced he will be departing Liverpool.
Klopp dropped the bombshell on Friday, with the German tactician disclosing he will be leaving Anfield at the end of the season.
According to Sky Sports, the 56-year-old cited diminishing energy levels as the main reason for his decision to quit.
"I can understand this is a shock for a lot of people," Klopp conceded.
"I am running out of energy. I am absolutely fine now but I know I cannot do the job again and again and again," he continued.
Klopp's announcement came as a big shock to many, especially considering that his Anfield future was under no immediate scrutiny.
Pep addreses Man City future
Pep, who joined Man City a year after Klopp arrived at Liverpool, has also made his future with the Cityzens clear.
Speaking after leading City to victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the FA Cup, the Spaniard clarified that he is 'fine' at the Etihad Stadium.
"I want to do it still for one more year, and maybe extend. I’m fine. I still try to manage," he said via Metro UK.
"We can’t do more than last season but what is important is one step at a time," he added.
Pep helped City win an unprecedented treble last season, which included a historic Champions League triumph.
