The world is still reeling from news that Jurgen Klopp is set to end an eight-year association with Liverpool football club.
Klopp dropped the bombshell on Friday, January 26, in an exclusive interview shared by Liverpool on the club’s social media pages.
In the interview, the German said, “"I can understand that it's a shock for a lot of people in this moment, when you hear it for the first time, but obviously I can explain it - or at least try to explain it.
His announcement comes as Liverpool are embroiled in an intense race for the Premier League title, and the Reds are also in contention to win the Carabao Cup, FA Cup and Europa League, as cited on 90Min.
"I love absolutely everything about this club, I love everything about the city, I love everything about our supporters, I love the team, I love the staff. I love everything. But that I still take this decision shows you that I am convinced it is the one I have to take,” Klopp added, per the club website.
On social media, Liverpool fans were all in disbelief of news that one of their most successful managers was leaving them.
Klopp, who is currently the longest-serving manager in English top flight, made history by ending Liverpool’s 30-year wait for the title. The 56-year-old also master-minded a Champions League triumph in 2019.

Bayer Leverkusen boss Xabi Alonso, Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann and Zinedine Zidane are just a few names whose odds of taking over at Anfield have been considered since Klopp’s announcement.
