Tears As Former African Football Star Dies a Mysterious Death

- Zimbabwe legend Butler Masango has been confirmed dead

- The retired footballer turned coach was diagnosed with heart complications sometime ago

- Before his death, he has been involved with discovering and nurturing youngsters in Johannesburg

African football family has been thrown into mourning following the untimely death of Zimbabwe legend, Butler Masango.

Coach Butler as he was fondly referred to was based in South Africa as the technical director and Soccer Scout at Talent Focus Elite Coaching in Johannesburg.

Although details of his mysterious death are not known at the time of this report, tributes have started to pour in for the late footballer.

For over 15 years, Masango was involved in developing young soccer players while he commits his spare time to mentoring children from disadvantaged backgrounds.

But earlier this year, coach Butler was reported to have been diagnosed with heart failure - an issue that has taken a toll on his revenue generation according to hot919.co.za.

The publication reports that was already feeling better when he contracted coronavirus and he probably battled the illness until his death.

Zororo Phumulani Funeral Plan (@zororophumulani) while paying tributes to the late legend on Twitter said:

"It is a dark day as our thoughts and prayers go to the Masango family upon learning of the passing on of South African based former Warriors striker and CAPS United midfielder the legendary Butler Masango popularly known as “Coach Butler."

Japhet "Short Cat" Mparutsa Foundation on Facebook added:

"Sad to hear about the death of upcoming development coach and legend of Zimbabwe Football, Butler Masango.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that English manager Glenn Roeder died at the age of 65 after surrendering to a long battle with a brain tumour.

Roeder was a former assistant to Glenn Hoddle in the England national team and managed top English sides including Watford, West Ham, and Newcastle.

The former Gillingham and Norwich City was a prominent player as he made over 500 career appearances as a defender.
