Former Bafana Bafana coach, Pitso Mosimane has spoken for the first time since his latest move to the Saudi Pro League after being without a job for two months.
The South African manager returned to Saudi Arabian top flight after recently working with Jeddah's Al-Ahli Saudi in the lower division.
The 59-year-old was linked with different clubs after departing UAE Pro League side, Al Wahda but has opted for a move back to the oil-rich nation.
The former Mamelodi Sundowns boss has officially joined Abha Club on a short-term deal. He will be in charge of the struggling club for the next four months.
After confirmation of the deal, Mosimane claimed he was happy to face the challenge and also thanked the club's board for giving him the job, according to a report by iDiskiTimes.
"I am happy to be returning to Saudi Arabia with an exciting challenge awaiting," he said.
"Abha Club has had a quick rise to the Saudi Pro League, considering they were playing in the 3rd Division just four seasons ago.
"Now, as the club faces its toughest challenge yet, I am honoured that the Board has entrusted me with the task of keeping the team in the Pro League."
Mosimane's first game as Abha Club's manager would be against Al-Taawoun on Thursday, February 15.
The SPL strugglers are currently 17th on the table with 14 points out of 19 games this season. They are five points behind 15th-placed Al-Riyadh.
Bobby Motaung addresses Mosimane rumours
Sports Brief earlier reported that Kaizer Chiefs manager, Bobby Motaung addressed the rumours claiming Pitso Mosimane rejected the AmaKhosi job to return to Saudi Arabia.
The AmaKhosi boss also disclosed the future plans of the Premier Soccer League club with regards to appointing a new permanent manager, with Cavin Johnson the interim coach.
