- Sergio Aguero has rated his former club, Manchester City’s odds
Sergio Aguero has weighed in on the Premier League title race and Manchester City’s chances after Kevin De Bruyne’s return from a long-term hamstring injury.
The Belgian limped off injured on the opening day of the season during City's 3-0 win over newly-promoted Burnley, managed by former captain, Vincent Kompany.
De Bruyne returned to action days ago during City’s comeback 3-2 win over Newcastle United, scoring and assisting youngster, Oscar Bobb to turn the result around.
Per Goal, Liverpool boss, Jurgen Klopp joked the whole country was shaking ahead of his return, while rival fans think the title race has tilted in City’s favour after his match-winning return.
Aguero assesses Premier League title race
Former City striker, Aguero has looked into the title race from the perspective of KDB’s return as an advantage to Pep Guardiola’s side.
"Kevin's return is massive," he told Stake. "While City was able to make do without him for a few months, his presence is still a key factor to the team's performance."
'Kun' also discussed De Bruyne's impact on the game itself, as well as the effect he has on the opposition.
"We saw that clear as day when he came in against Newcastle and allowed us to take back the lead.
"Calling the race over would be an overstatement. A single player cannot win a league. But we come out bolstered by Kevin's recovery, no doubt about that," he added.
The Citizens have won five of the last six titles, including the previous three consecutively. Liverpool’s first title in 30 years in the 2019/20 season broke what could have been a monopoly.
