  • African footballers are also not left out when it comes to making huge sums of money from football
  • The likes of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, and legendary Samuel Eto'o are one of the few in that category
  • Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen failed to make the cut despite just signing a new contract with Napoli

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen was missing from the list of Africa's highest-earning footballers in history, but Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah made the cut.

The Nigerian international recently signed a new contract with his club, Napoli, but his salary per year with the Italians is not enough for him to make the top 20 earners in Africa's history.

Despite Osimhen missing the cut, Nigeria was ably represented, with former Manchester United striker Odion Ighalo appearing on the list twice.

The ex-Super Eagles striker took home a huge paycheck during his time with Shanghai Shenhua and Changchun Yatai in China.

Former Barcelona striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang made the top five due to the considerable amount he earned during his time with Arsenal.

Cameroon legend Samuel Eto'o is also on the list, with his time with Anzhi Makhachkala key, according to a report by Bleacher Report.
