Kaizer Chiefs legend, Doctor Khumalo has singled out a Bafana Bafana star for praise due to his performances at the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.
South Africa qualified for the Round of 16 of the competition after finishing second in Group E ahead of Namibia and Tunisia.
Bafana Bafana will now face the Atlas Lions of Morocco in the second round, with that clash scheduled for Tuesday, January 30.
After South Africa's goalless draw against Tunisia on Wednesday, Khumalo - who was an SABCSport pundit for the game - hailed Sphephelo 'Yaya' Sithole for his performances so far, according to a report by iDiskiTimes.
"I am so glad that we have found a Sithole; he is a maturing player," he said. "Now we have a significantly, very mature player. So now, we have to secure him nicely, protect him and show him how to do things right in the national team."
The former South African international also acknowledged that a lot of people are yet to comprehend just what Sithole does for Bafana Bafana.
"He is so unbelievable, and I know many people have not seen what he can do. That's our investment because the likes of Teboho Mokoena, they do not dig deep when defending because Sithole is there to give both attack and defence - and also transition, for that matter," he added.
