The lead-up to the pulsating Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) clash between Nigeria and Cameroon continues to herald the continent’s football space.
Football stars from both teams are eagerly preparing for the knockout clash against their neighbouring nations.
One player set to shine on the grand stage is the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Player of the Year Victor Osimhen.
The Nigerian forward is poised to make a significant impact on the tournament as the Super Eagles strive for a fourth AFCON crown and the first in a decade.
Nevertheless, leading up to the clash, the 25-year-old forward, who spoke to the media, took the opportunity to conceptualise his ideal player.
Osimhen creates his ultimate player
In a conversation with football expert Pooja, the Napoli star faced the challenging task of crafting his Ultimate football player.
Surprisingly, the Nigerian talisman opted not to include the iconic figures, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. Instead, he chose the left foot of his Nigerian teammate Samuel Chukwueze and selected AC Milan’s forward Rafael Leao for the right foot.
When it came to speed, Osimhen picked Paris Saint-Germain's Kylian Mbappe. For strength, he opted for the prowess of former Chelsea midfielder N'Golo Kante.
When asked about skill, he chose Brazil’s talisman Neymar Jr, and he concluded by selecting the footballing IQ of former Manchester United forward Dimitar Berbatov.
The choices made by the marquee forward have ignited a buzz on social media. While some agree with his selections, others are surprised by a few of his choices.
Nevertheless, Osimhen, who has faced recent scrutiny due to his goal drought at the AFCON, is determined to lead the charge as Nigeria aims for another victory over Cameroon.
