South Africa's coach, Hugo Broos, has given an update on Khuliso Mudau's injury in their last Group E game against Tunisia on Wednesday evening.
The Mamelodi Sundowns fullback was writhing in pain in the 34th minute after a dangerous tackle from a Tunisia forward.
The defender was eventually substituted at half-time as he was unable to continue the match and was duly replaced by Nyiko Mobbie.
In an interview after the game, Broos claimed that Madau's injury is not a good sign, according to a report by FARPost.

Football"I don't know, we have to wait till tomorrow [Thursday]. The fact that Khuliso [Mudau] was to go out is not a good sign," he said.
The Belgian manager went further to confirm where the Mamelodi Sundowns star was affected but couldn't guarantee that the defender would be available for South Africa's next game.
"It's an ankle. We [the medical team] will see him tomorrow and make a good analysis of his injury and then maybe we can decide if he should be ready for next week," he added.
The result of the extent of Mudau's injury is expected to be released on Thursday, according to reports.
South Africa's next game will be on Tuesday, January 30, and could be without Mudau due to injury.
The Bafana Bafana defender could be replaced by Mamelodi Sundowns teammate Thapelo Morena or Sekhukhune United F.C. fullback Mobbie in South Africa's starting lineup.
