FootballCristiano Ronaldo Fans in China Storm Al Nassr’s Hotel As CR7’s Injury Leads to Tour Postponement
- Al-Nassr arrived in China, where they planned to compete in two fixtures as part of a Winter Tour
- Cristiano Ronaldo's fans came from all parts of China to watch the Portuguese superstar in action
- Ronaldo will not be able to compete due to a slight injury, leading to the tour being postponed
Al-Nassr's trip to China is not going as planned.
The Saudi Arabian side arrived in the Asian country for their China Tour but have since had to postpone it due to an injury sustained by Cristiano Ronaldo.
CR7 is dealing with a muscle complaint and would have been unable to play the games against Shanghai Shenhua and Zheijang.
With the Portuguese star unavailable for the games, the decision was made to postpone the fixtures to a later date.
As noted by Goal, Ronaldo himself apologised for the postponement, saying that the situation made him sad but that it was out of his control.
"I’m really sad because Al-Nassr and myself have come to China to enjoy the tour. I have been coming to China since 2003/2004, so I feel at home here – my second home," he said.
He added that while it was sad, there was still a bright side.
"We have not cancelled the game, we want to push for the game and be back here. We will be back. Unfortunately, I have some problems, but this is part of football and my life,' he continued.
Chinese fans not happy with tournament postponement
While Ronaldo was apologetic for his injury and the postponement of the tournament, it did little to comfort fans in the area.
Disappointed fans stormed the hotel where Al-Nassr's players were staying and gained entrance to the lobby area. Hotel staff had their hands full as they tried to keep fans at bay, but people were desperate to see Ronaldo.

FootballPolice called in to restore order
Chinese police were eventually called in to calm fans down and were able to restore order at the hotel.
Fans remained outside the hotel in a bid to try and meet the Portuguese superstar.
Organisers will refund Chinese fans
Organisers of the Winter Tour have since confirmed that they will refund those who bought tickets.
This is little consolation to fans who have travelled from all parts of China to see the former Real Madrid superstar in action.
Inter Miami to play Al-Nassr
Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi will get to prove who is the best when they face off against each other in Riyadh.
The two superstars will meet when Al-Nassr play Inter Miami at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Sports Brief reported.
The game will form part of the 2024 Riyadh Season Cup, and won't be the first time the two have played each other.
