The final round of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) group-stage matches continues, with the Super Eagles of Nigeria slated to face the Djurtus of Guinea Bissau on January 22.
The stakes are high in this encounter as the three-time Cup of Nations champions aim to secure the top spot in their group, ahead of host nation, Ivory Coast, and Equatorial Guinea.
The upcoming clash against their West African counterparts promises to be a pulsating encounter, particularly in light of Baciro Cande’s team's victory over the Super Eagles just 11 months ago in Abuja.
Nonetheless, in anticipation of this crucial face-off, a former Nigeria forward and former AFCON winner has rallied his motivation for the players, instilling confidence for the impending showdown.

Former Super Eagles winger and 1980 Cup of Nations winner, Segun Odegbami, who visited the team’s training camp in Ivory Coast, offered encouragement to the team.
According to a report by Complete Sports, the 71-year-old expressed his support ahead of what promises to be a tough encounter.
"It’s going to be challenging because that’s our tradition. When we win a match and start to think the next one will be easy, that’s when it becomes difficult.
"So, I don’t expect an easy match but calmly do the things you know how to do best. Under any circumstances, you will win, and we will be with you till the end."
