South Africans were buzzing when Percy Tau was recalled to Brighton & Hove Albion after his loan spell at Anderlecht. Tau had his English Premier League debut against the mighty Manchester City and says he still needs to adjust to Premier League football.
It has been a while since a South African has graced the Premier League and football fans in Mzansi were excited to see what Percy could do.
Percy impressed on his first start in the league and gave Manchester City's Oleksandr Zinchenko the run around on the pitch. Brighton ended up losing the game 1-0.
The forward has spoken out about the game he had last night against the Citizens and said that he still needs to get used to the league.
"It was a difficult game but we did our best. We tried to create chances but it was difficult to do that. We have to grow from this," said Tau.
The 27-year-old also said that he still needs some time to get used to his teammates at Brighton so that his time there can be a success.
"I need to adjust to the team and the league. With time I will get better as I understand the way the coach wants me to play more," he said.
