Georgina Rodriguez gushed at her partner, Cristiano Ronaldo, moments after he won the 2023 top scorer award at the Globe Soccer ceremony on January 19.

Ronaldo beat the likes of Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe to finish with the most number of goals 12 months after moving to Al-Nassr after a public fallout with Erik ten Hag at Manchester United.

The awards came a few days after Ronaldo's rival, Lionel Messi, won the 2023 FIFA Best Award in a ceremony organized at the Apollo Theatre Centre in London.

Messi's win sparked serious questions about the eligibility criteria used, given that the awards' timeframe was between December 19, 2022, and August 20, 2023. Sports Brief has also reported on the prolonged unusual silence by Messi to accept his award publicly.

Rodriguez stepped in and declared his husband the best, accompanied by a series of lovey-dovey photos of the two.

"Accompanying the best, the love of my life."

Ronaldo commented on the post with a love emoji.

The model wore a white dress, complimented by white heels and a small black purse. Ronaldo meanwhile dazzled in a navy blue suit with a black polo t-shirt.

Apart from the top scorer's award, the 38-year-old also won the fan's Favourite Player of the Year and the Best Player in the Middle East.

"Last year, I had a difficult journey. But I like to prove the doubters wrong. I'm proud to be the top scorer of 2023 above young lions like Haaland and Mbappe," said Ronaldo as quoted by Sportskeeda.

Ronaldo slams Ballon d'Or, FIFA Best Awards

Sports Brief has also reported that Ronaldo has downplayed the credibility of the Ballon d'Or and FIFA Best Awards.

The Portuguese forward made the comments after winning three awards at the Globe Soccer Awards.

Messi has won almost every major individual award since winning the FIFA World Cup in Qatar in 2022.
