Former Senegal forward El-Hadji Diouf has extolled the qualities of youngster Lamine Camara following his outstanding start to the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
The FC Metz midfielder netted a brace as Senegal defeated Gambia in their opening game before starting in the 3-1 victory over Cameroon.
Camara was named Man of the Match on his Africa Cup of Nations debut, drawing a lot of praise from fans and ex-players.
According to Diouf, who played alongside ex-Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard, Camara reminds him of his former teammate and English legend Frank Lampard.
“Lamine doesn't even play the football of his generation. The two players I have seen develop in the same way are Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard," he said as quoted by 13 Football.
