According to Diouf, who played alongside ex-Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard, Camara reminds him of his former teammate and English legend Frank Lampard.

“Lamine doesn't even play the football of his generation. The two players I have seen develop in the same way are Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard," he said as quoted by 13 Football.

Camara is already attracting interest from top clubs in Europe with Premier League teams set to make a move in the winter transfer window for the 20-year-old.

The Senegalese youngster has enjoyed an incredible year, winning the CAF U20 Cup of Nations as well as the Championship of African Nations title in 2023. He was named the best young player in Africa at the CAF Awards in December last year following his successes with the young Teranga Lions.

He is expected to start when Senegal faces Guinea in their final group game on Tuesday, per Sky Sports.
