Jadon Sancho had another decent outing in his second game in Borussia Dortmund colours since his return to the German club on loan from Manchester United.
The winger was given his first start by Edin Terzic, after coming up with an assist in his last game, a lively 36-minute cameo against Darmstadt.
Sancho made his presence in the game felt early in the second half as he earned his team a penalty after a mazy dribble in the box.
The England international proved too quick for FC Koln defender Rasmus Cartensen, who tagged him back, giving the referee no choice but to point to the spot.
Up-stepped German forward Niclas Fullkrug, who is the designated penalty taker, but before he could slot home from 12 yards, he had some resistance from Sancho, who wanted to take the penalty which he won.
Eventually, Fullkrug was allowed to take it and made a mistake in the 59th minute to make the score 2-0.
Sancho followed his teammate to celebrate the goal, putting their brief squabble behind them.
After a fairly solid performance, the Manchester United loanee was hauled off in the 66th minute and replaced by Jamie Bynoe-Gittens.
Five minutes earlier, Dortmund had gone 3-0 up through Donyell Malen, who completed his brace, while Youssoufa Moukoko added a fourth late on.
It was a welcome win for Dortmund, who boosted their Champions League as they moved level on points with RB Leipzig, according to the Bundesliga website.
For Sancho, he continues to show off his class on the pitch, as he now has two goal involvements in two appearances for Dortmund. In the three years he spent at United since his £73m move, he registered just six assists, as per Transfermarkt.
