- The Al-Nassr star has played for some of the best clubs in the world
- The Portuguese's career has spanned over two decades
Al-Nassr superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has disclosed his preferred club to watch, and supporters of his previous team, Manchester United, might not be thrilled.
Ronaldo parted ways with the Red Devils following a significant disagreement with Erik ten Hag.
The Portuguese captain, in a well-known exclusive interview with Piers Morgan, marked the end of his second stint with the Old Trafford outfit.
The 38-year-old played a pivotal role in the remarkable expansion of the Saudi Pro League by joining Al Nassr in 2023.
In contrast to his struggles in the latter part of his second tenure in England, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner has made a significant impact in Saudi Arabia, emerging as the leading goal-scorer in global football for 2023 with 54 goals for Al Nassr and Portugal.
Addressing the audience at the Globe Soccer Awards, Ronaldo elaborated on the significance of this accomplishment for him.
"I was the best goalscorer. I had to beat the young lions, like Haaland for example, so I'm proud," He said.
Ronaldo was also asked who his favourite club to watch is, and his answer may raise a few eyebrows.
“Manchester City did amazing congratulations on their season. Players, coach, superb…”, Ronaldo explained at the ceremony via Fabrizio Romano.
"Finally they win the Champions League, they probably deserved it two years ago. I enjoy seeing them playing”
Given Ronaldo's associations with the red side of Manchester, this revelation might catch some by surprise. However, it's challenging to dispute the validity of the 38-year-old's perspective.
