Al-Nassr forward Sadio Mane put the icing on the cake as Senegal strolled to victory in their second group game against Cameroon in Yamoussoukro.

The 31-year-old finished off a brilliant move from the Teranga Lions to restore Senegal's two-goal advantage in the 90th minute.

The freshly-married forward and his Senegal teammates celebrated at the end of the game as the African champions advanced to the knockout stage with a match to spare.

Mane, who provided an assist in the win over Gambia last week, was quiet for most of the game but exploded in the second half for the champions.

In an electric start to the game, Ismaila Sarr gave Senegal the lead after his shot from outside the box took a little deflection on its way into the net, as reported by the BBC.

Sarr went from scorer to provider, as his cross into the box was finished by Habib Diallo.

However, the Indomitable Lions were lifted by a Jean Castello goal with seven minutes remaining but Mane ensured the game was beyond Cameroon with a fine strike.

Senegal will face Guinea in their final Group C game on Tuesday, per NBC Sports.

Senegal beat Cameroon to progress

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that defending champions Senegal became the second qualifiers for the Africa Cup of Nations round of 16 as Ismaila Sarr, Habib Diallo and Sadio Mane scored in a 3-1 win over Cameroon on Friday.

A few hours earlier, Cape Verde were the first country to secure a last-16 place by hammering Mozambique 3-0 in Abidjan.

Sarr netted in the first half and Diallo and Mane in the second in Yamoussoukro to give the title-holders a maximum six points after two Group C matches. The losers have only one.

Mane warns AFCON team about Mali

Sports Brief also reported that Senegal forward Sadio Mane believes Mali could be the team to beat at the

Al-Nassr forward, Sadio Mane was on target as the Teranga Lions defeated Cameroon 3-1 in Yamoussoukro on Friday night.

Despite being favourites this year, Mane believes Senegal will face some stern tests along the way and hopes they avoid Mali.
