Lionel Messi has enjoyed an illustrious football career spanning close to two decades.

His successful career has seen him win multiple titles and individual honours, including a record-extending eight Ballon d'Or awards.

Recently, BBC reports that the 36-year-old was crowned the FIFA Best Men's Player of the Year after beating Man City hotshot Erling Haaland and PSG's Kylian Mbappe to the prize.

However, the forward would not have achieved this were it not for the top players he has played with.

According to GiveMeSports, Andres Iniesta, Ronaldinho, Neymar, Kylian Mbappe, and Luis Suarez are among the world-class players Messi has shared the dressing room with.

Messi names his favourite teammates

In an interview with Titan Sports, the World Cup winner disclosed some of his favourite teammates he has had in the past.

The list featured some familiar names, with the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Samuel Eto'o featuring.

However, two players conspicuously missed on Messi's list, Mbappe and Thierry Henry.

"I was lucky to play for a long time at Barcelona... with many of the best players. Like Ronaldinho, Deco, Eto'o, Suarez, Xavi, [Andres] Iniesta, [Sergio] Busquets, I was lucky enough to play with the best players and enjoy the game with them. Speaking of which, I almost forgot about Neymar because there are so many people," he said.
"There must be many players I forgot to mention. I've been lucky enough to play with the best players, with the best strikers. Like Neymar, Eto'o, Suarez, [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic and [David] Villa and many more," he added.

Mbappe admits he misses Messi

Sports Brief reported on Mbappe admitting he misses Messi after the Argentina captain left Ligue 1 to join Inter Miami in Major League Soccer last month.

The France national team captain explained what the former Barcelona captain offers on the field, which suited his style of football, but he hasn't had anyone to do that since he left.
