Cristiano Ronaldo is not someone you bump into randomly and frequently as it takes a lot to organise a meet-up with him, a Saudi company found out in 2017.
Ronaldo is the highest-paid footballer in the world after joining Al-Nassr in January 2023, after his Manchester United contract was mutually terminated following an outburst with Piers Morgan.
He is paid a reported £173 million at the Saudi Pro League club and has influenced other top European stars into the league, including Brazilian attacker Neymar Jr.
The former Manchester United star has other ventures where he makes money, including his Instagram page, which has 617 million followers. Per Hopper HQ via Hindustani Times, he makes over $ 3.23 million per post.
How much Mobily paid Ronaldo in 2017
Per SportBible, according to the Football Leaks book by Der Spiegel journalists Rafael Buschmann and Michael Wulzinger it disclosed how much it cost to hire Ronaldo in 2017.
Saudi telecom company Mobily reached an agreement with Irish image rights company Multisports & Image Management, which manages Ronaldo, to have access to him.
Part of the agreement was four and a half hours with the then Real Madrid star. This has a package of photoshoots, five signed shirts and two posts on social media.
Mobily was charged £920,000 for the deal. They were allowed to use the images taken but were limited to the Middle East, where they operate. This happened in 2017.
The 38-year-old was present at a Saudi Arabia Day of Reckoning: Fight Night in December, where Anthony Joshua was in action against Otto Wallin. He was in the company of his son and Conor McGregor.
