  • Korhogo is situated roughly 130km from Ivory Coast's border with Mali and Burkina Faso
  • The north Ivorian city will host seven matches at the Amadou Gon Coulibaly Stadium
  • The round begins with a double header featuring all four Group E participants

A newly built footballing cathedral is awaiting its first AFCON patrons.

The northernmost venue in Ivory Coast will be the venue where the fate of Tunisia, Mali, Namibia and South Africa will be decided.

In the heart of Korhogo is the Amadou Gon Coulibaly Stadium, which will host all of Group E's fixtures with the exception of Mali's final game with Namibia.

Built specifically for this AFCON, CAF claim it will add to the aesthetic beauty of the city with its just over 20 hectares of sprawling sporting facilities.

The Coulibaly has a capacity of just over 20 000, with a natural grass pitch encircled by an athletics track. As well as six group games, Korhogo will host one Round of 16 match.

South Africa are based at state-of-the-art the Lycee Moderne de Korhogo camp and their group rivals have received warm welcomes from the city's inhabitants.

Korhogo's surrounding areas are made up of 62 sub-prefecture villages and has a population of just under 300,000. The key sights include the Péléforo Gbon Coulibaly Museum, a large market and a mosque.

The city's airport is home to two prominent air traffic authorities, the International Air Transport Association and the United Nations' International Civil Aviation Organisation.

Hugo Broos and his team have been happy with the facilities as they look for a solid foundation to build from. One of the key players for Bafana, Percy Tau said in a press conference on the eve of the match:

"I think we have prepared well. Even though we still have another session today to do the final touches. Everyone is looking forward to the tournament and out first game and we want to start well."
