Cameroon legend Samuel Eto'o could not hide his emotions as he watched the Indomitable Lions struggle to earn a point against ten-man Guinea in their Group C opener.
The President of the Cameroonian Football Federation was at the Stade de Yamoussoukro to support the five-time African champions.
However, despite playing most of the game with a man advantage, Cameroon had to come from a goal down to draw 1-1 in their first game of the tournament.
In a video shared on social media, Eto'o was spotted expressing his frustrations from the stands.
Eto'o won two Africa Cup of Nations for Cameroon and is widely regarded as the greatest African footballer of all time.
Following his retirement from football, the 42-year-old decided to contest for the position of FECAFOOT president, which he won in 2021. He has since headed the federation, leading them to third place at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, hosted in Cameroon.
In a pulsating encounter on Monday night, Mohamed Bayo opened the scoring for the Syli National before Frank Magri levelled for Cameroon in the second half.
Eto'o questions South African football
Earlier, Sports Brief reported that former Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o is struggling to understand why South Africa has a strong domestic league but a poor national team.

Sports Brief also reported that a second-half header from Frank Magri salvaged a point for Cameroon in their game against Guinea.
The five-time champions were favourites to win the tie and dominated most parts of the play in the first 45 minutes, but could not seal all three points against a 10-man Guinean side at the Charles Konan Banny Stadium.
Guinea drew the first blood with a goal from Le Havre forward Mohamed Bayo in the 10th minute after a mistake from Cameroon midfielder Olivier Kemen.
