  • Belgian star Kevin De Bruyne is turning up the heat for Manchester City
  • His career could've taken a different path if he joined his preferred club
  • A video has emerged of De Bruyne talking about his dream football club

Kevin De Bruyne is Manchester City’s star, but he could have been starring for another Premier League club if his childhood dream had been fulfilled.

De Bruyne rose from an initial career setback at Chelsea and went on to blossom at German Bundesliga club, Wolfsburg, before returning to England with City.

He has been one of the best players in the league since he joined the Citizens, proving his worth by being the difference maker and has won every possible trophy.

He recently returned from a hamstring injury that has troubled him since the 2023 UEFA Champions League final win against Inter Milan, where he limped off in the 33rd minute.

De Bruyne dreamt of playing for Liverpool

Many footballers get to fulfil their childhood dreams and play for their desired clubs, while many others do not. The ones lucky enough get to play at the level their dream club is.

For De Bruyne, he is playing at the top but not where he dreamt. As seen in a video making rounds on social media, a young KDB outlined his dream.

“My favourite team is Liverpool, my favourite player is Michael Owen, and I would love to play there,” he said.

Jurgen Klopp would have dreamt of managing the former Chelsea star. Per The Telegraph, the German tried signing him while managing Borussia Dortmund, but Jose Mourinho talked him out.

The Liverpool boss always acknowledges the former KAA Gent star and recently claimed the whole country is shaking because of his return from injury.
