Egyptian fans have a lot to celebrate during their opening game at AFCON 2022.
The Pharaohs took on Mozambique in their opening game of the tournament and had the perfect start, thanks to Mostafa Mohamed.
The striker scored within the first two minutes of the game as Egypt got the ball rolling on their quest to win a record-extending eighth AFCON title.
As noted by CAF Online, Egypt won the title in 1957, 1959, 1986, 1998, 2006, and 2008. Their last title came in 2010.

With their side getting off to a perfect start against Mozambique, fans couldn’t contain their excitement.

How Egypt opened the scoring
Mohamed, who plays for FC Nantes in France, pounced on a loose ball in the box after Mohamed Salah mistimed his kick.
The Liverpool attacker tried to volley home from a cross from the left wing but totally missed the ball. Mohamed then showed great control with his back to goal to get the ball away from the defender. He then swivelled and fired home into the bottom corner to give his side the lead.

Egypt's goal wasn't the only time that the stadium broke out into loud celebrations. Fans gathered in the stadium made the most of the experience, dancing along to the music and making their voices heard.
