Manchester United ace Mason Greenwood has named Brazilian icon Ronaldo Nazario as his icon.

Greenwood is currently working on his way back to the top after he joined Spanish side Getafe on loan.

According to Goal, the star forward recently gave brief answers to questions on the La Liga side's social media.

Key among the questions the Englishman was asked was who his childhood idol was, which he named Ronaldo.

The legendary forward is widely regarded as one of the greatest footballers of all time, thanks to his illustrious career.

The former striker is one of the few players who have turned out for Spanish rivals Real Madrid and Barcelona.

He played 177 times for Los Blancos, scoring an eyewatering 103 goals and bagging 35 assists.

His brief stint at Barcelona saw him score 47 times for the Catalan club in 49 appearances.

What does the future hold for Greenwood?

Sportskeeda reports that Greenwood's revelation of his idol comes at a time when he has continually been linked with a permanent move to La Liga.

According to the publication, his performances at Getafe have caught the eyes of many top clubs, including Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Getafe are also said to be keen to sign the forward on a permanent basis at the end of the season.

It is believed that the side have submitted a £40million offer with the view of sealing the deal in the summer.

The 22-year-old has scored three goals and assited four others to help Getafe to ninth place in the La Liga standings.
