  • Arsenal have been touted among the favourites to win the EPL crown this season
  • Rodri believes Liverpool pose the biggest threat in City's bid to retain the crown
  • The Reds are currently topping the charts with 45 points, two points above City

Manchester City midfielder Rodri has snubbed Arsenal while naming five teams that can win the Premier League title this season.

Mikel Arteta's charges were in the driving seat of the title race for the better part of last season but missed out on the crown to City.

Following their encouraging second-place finish and a summer of heavy spending, The Mirror reports that many tipped the Gunners to challenge for the EPL title this season.

However, the north Londoners have evidently hit a rough patch in recent days, recording two successive defeats in the process.

The worrying run of form has them sitting fourth in the table and risk dropping out of the title race altogether.

Rodri makes EPL title prediction

While assessing City's chances of retaining the Premier League title, Rodri cited Liverpool as their main challenger for the trophy.

According to the 27-year-old, Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur also pose a huge threat to the reigning champions.

"If you ask me, our real contenders are Liverpool because they have the experience of winning in the last years," explained to City's official YouTube channel.
"[Aston] Villa, you can see how big they are coming now and the personality and ambition with which they play. It's not easy if you are there for the first time to sustain this, but you never know. Tottenham are playing at a good level," he continued.

Meanwhile, City currently occupy second place in the standings with 43 points following their 3-2 comeback win over Newcastle United.

Two late goals from Kevin De Bruyne and Oscar Bobb helped the Cityzens see off the Magpies at St James Park on Saturday.

Haaland's reaction to City comeback goes viral

Earlier, Sports Brief reported on Manchester City hotshot Erling Haaland going viral for his reactions while watching Kevin De Bruyne inspire his side's comeback against Newcastle United.

De Bruyne was the man of the moment as City staged a dramatic comeback to see off the Magpies at St. James Park on Saturday.
