Former Mamelodi Sundowns manager Pitso Mosimane has been backed to fulfil his dream of winning the Africa Cup of Nations by ex-Kaizer Chiefs star.
The South African tactician claimed late last year that he would be open to taking up a national team job if given the opportunity.
The former Al Ahly boss was linked with the Super Eagles of Nigeria coaching job after they drew their first two games in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying games against Lesotho and Zimbabwe.
In an interview with FARPost, former Kaizer Chiefs star Katlego Mphela claimed it would be the right time for Mosimane to return to the national team to achieve his AFCON dream.

Football"For Bafana, this could be the right time for Pitso Mosimane to return. I mean, he has got the experience already," he said.
The 59-year-old had previously worked as the coach of the Bafana Bafana, and Mphela believes he could help the team due to his experience and familiarity with the players.
"He has been in the position before, knows the expectations, and knows the South African players," he added.
"But if you listen to his interviews, or what he was trying to say is that he will only consider the national team when they are ready to compete. He would not want to go to the AFCON just to add numbers. He wants to win it."
Sports Brief also reported that Pitso Mosimane has agreed to terms to join a new club amid links with Premier Soccer League side Kaizer Chiefs, according to reports.
