The Football Kenya Federation Premier League's second leg is back with a bang, with KCB FC making waves by significantly enhancing its squad.

They have made seven new signings, including striker Collins Neto, formerly of Muhoroni Youth, Victor Ogendo from Musanze FC, and midfielders Lameck Luhangala from Scorpions Musingu, Shadrack Simiyu, both from Compel FC.

Defenders Henry Onyango from Kariobangi Sharks, Francis Onyango from Bidco United and Vincent Ondabu from Equity FC have also signed for the Bankers.

These acquisitions are expected to infuse fresh energy and skills into the team, with each player contributing unique strengths.

All this is in response to a 5-0 home loss to Tusker FC on Sunday, January 7, 2024, which resulted in a loss of crucial points

The objective is to ascend in the standings and contend for top positions.

"We slipped in the last match against Tusker, but it is no excuse. As we take on Ulinzi, a loss or a draw is not what we are envisioning; we are going into the match to grab the three points," KCB Head Coach Bernard Mwalala is quoted by Standard Sports.

The coach's confidence in the newly reinforced squad underscores the team's determination to win upcoming matches.

Seven players, including Harrison Mwendwa and Harun Mwale, have also departed from the club. This reshuffling signifies a strategic shift as the team aims to balance experienced players and emerging talent.

Currently seventh on the log, with 27 points, KCB has had varied showings in the first leg, winning seven matches, drawing six and losing four. With 20 goals scored and 17 conceded, there's room for improvement, especially in converting draws and losses into wins.

They visit Ulinzi Stars at the Ulinzi Sports Complex on Sunday, January 14, 2024, with the Bankers seeking to climb into the top 4 with 27 points.

In another Sunday fixture, KCB slayers Tusker will face Sofapaka at Kenyatta Stadium, as reported by FKF.

Zico appointed at Sofapaka

Sports Brief reported when Sofapaka appointed Zedekiah 'Zico' Otieno as their new manager.

The decision was seen as a strategic move to stabilise performance after a challenging 2023/24 campaign start.

The ex-Gor Mahia coach’s appointment resulted in a reshuffle in the coaching staff.
