- The 25-year-old forward has six months left on his contract with the French Ligue 1 champions
Real Madrid have identified a Nigerian international as a transfer alternative to Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe.
The Spanish giants have been on Mbappe's transfer radar since the France international's days at AS Monaco but have failed at every attempt to bring him to Spain.
The 25-year-old's contract with the Parisiens will end this summer, and he could join any team of his choice on a free transfer if he doesn't sign a new deal with the French champions.
According to a report by Football Transfers as per GOAL, the La Liga giants are considering a mover for Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen, a transfer alternative to Mbappe.
The Napoli striker has been one of the hottest players in the transfer market due to his performances for his club and country.
Real Madrid are finding it challenging to price Mbappe away from Paris Saint-Germain, with some of Los Blancos' board members opting against signing the former Monaco striker.
Reports have it that some senior Real Madrid board members believe Osimhen is more suited to their club's style of play and could be the best option over Mbappe.
Getting the Nigerian international to join Real Madrid in the summer won't be easy as he signed a new contract with Napoli late last year, and his release clause is set at €130m.
Aside from meeting the release clause, the Spanish giants also face competition from English Premier League sides Arsenal and Chelsea, who are also keen on signing the Super Eagles striker.
