  • Cristiano Ronaldo took his son's cue, scoring a direct free-kick in training
  • Ronaldo Junior had a few days ago scored one of his own, earning praise online
  • He has shown signs of taking after his father's illustrious career

Cristiano Ronaldo took to Instagram to impart some football lessons to his son with a perfect freekick.

A video had earlier surfaced online of Ronaldo Junior scoring a marvellous free-kick of his own, reminiscent of his father's qualities.

Not taking the challenge lying down, the elder Ronaldo recreated the free-kick with barriers in goal and makeshift walls.

He bent his effort in the top corner before hitting a rendition of his iconic 'Siuu' celebration. The Al-Nassr forward captioned the video;

"Cris, watch and learn."

Footballers with most free-kick goals ever

GMS reports that Ronaldo has scored 61 free-kick goals in his career, which puts him in the top 10 of all time. His nemesis, Lionel Messi has scored four more. Juninho Pernambucano leads the list with 77 goals in his career.

Ronaldo Junior is in the books of Al-Nassr Academy. The 13-year-old has been following his father in the clubs he has played for. He has previously turned out for Juventus, Real Madrid and Manchester United youth set-ups.

Meanwhile, his 38-year-old father has shown no signs of slowing down anytime soon. The Portuguese maestro finished the 2023 calendar year as the top scorer after an immaculate debut season in the Middle East.

Ronaldo is currently on a mid-season break with his side but will return to action soon in the Riyadh Cup, where he is set to face Messi's Inter Miami in a friendly match.

The match has been dubbed as the 'Last Dance' between the two greats.

Speed visits Ronaldo

At the same time, Cristiano Ronaldo's superfan iShowSpeed visited the Brazilian Ronaldo at his home. The retired striker allowed the American Youtuber to touch one of the two Ballon d'Ors he won in his career.

Ronaldo declined to be drawn into the GOAT debate of who is greater between Ronaldo and Messi, choosing to give them both their flowers.
