A video has emerged online of Sadio Mane's new wife, Aisha Tamba, receiving a heroic welcome at her school just a few days after getting married to the forward.

Many were surprised to learn that the Al-Nassr superstar had exchanged wedding vows with the 18-year-old in the suburbs of Dakar in Keur Massar, on January 7.

Her age then became a real bone of contention on social media after it was revealed that the two knew each other two years ago when Tamba was just 16.

However, Sports Brief also reported that Mane was within Senegalese legal bounds as the age of consent in the West African country is 16 years old.

The bride's father, Amadou Tamba, also recently confirmed that his daughter is indeed 18 years old, as captured by the Mirror.

Tamba gets heroic welcome after wedding

While Mane linked up with the Senegal football team for their Africa Cup of Nations title defence, Tamba returned to school, where she was serenaded by her schoolmates, as shown in a video by Senegalese media outlet Senenews.

The new Mrs. Mane was clearly emotional as she waved to her schoolmates from a balcony.

What next for Mane and Tamba?

Any potential plans by Mane and Tamba for a romantic honeymoon were put on hold as the Teranga Lions flew out to Ivory Coast for the 2023 edition of the AFCON.

Aliou Cisse will be hoping to lead his side to a third consecutive final and a second successive triumph. They play five-time champions Cameroon, Guinea, and the Gambia in Group C.

Senegal arrive at AFCON in all-white style

Sports Brief also previously reported that the Senegal team met President Macky Sall, dressed in all-white outfits, before leaving for Abidjan.

The team has been camping in Dakar for the last two weeks, where they finished their preparation and training with a 1-0 victory against Niger.
