The wife of Andre Ayew, Yvonne Ayew, has made a decision over which country to support between Ivory Coast and Ghana at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
Yvonne is an Ivorian while her husband, with whom she has two adorable children, is the captain of the Black Stars of Ghana.
With the Nations Cup being hosted in her country, Ivory Coast, Mrs Ayew is expected to be backing her country.
However, she chose to support her husband and Ghana ahead of the start of the tournament on Saturday in Abidjan.
“This year, I support André. He's in the Ghanaian team. But, if Ivory Coast wins, I'll also be very, very, very happy,” she told Canal Plus, as quoted by Pulse.
The Ivorian beauty has been married to the son of the legendary Abedi Pele for years now and has always been at competitions to support him.
Meanwhile, Ayew, who could be making his last appearance at the competition is on the brink of making history by becoming the first player to score at seven Nations Cup tournaments, as reported by Vanguard NGR.
Ghana have been drawn in Group B alongside Egypt, Cape Verde and Mozambique, leaving them with a high chance of facing Ivory Coast in the knockout stage.
Andre Ayew eyes AFCON record
Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Black Stars captain Andre Ayew has drawn comparisons between the Africa Cup of Nations and the the FIFA World Cup.
The Le Havre forward has called the AFCON a difficult tournament to play in and win.
Ayew will play his eighth AFCON tournament in Cote d'Ivoire. The previous seven he has played in did not bring any silverware, only pain.

Sports Brief also reported that veteran Ghanaian forward, Andre Ayew could set himself apart from the rest by becoming the first player to score at seven AFCONs.
The former Olympique Marseille attacker is making his eight appearance at the continental showpiece in Ivory Coast.
Ayew will also be looking at breaking the record for the most appearances at the flagship tournament.
