FootballTop 15 Highest Paid Bundesliga Stars as Jadon Sancho Sneaks to 10th
- Jadon Sancho joined Borussia Dortmund on loan from Manchester United
- The English winger’s salary will be partly covered by his parent club
- His wages put him inside the top 10 of the highest-paid Bundesliga players
Jadon Sancho instantly moved into the top 10 list of the highest-paid players in the Bundesliga after his loan move to Borussia Dortmund was confirmed on Thursday, January 11.
Sancho returned to the German club two years after joining Manchester United in a £73m deal, with his loan deal coming months after a sensational fallout with Red Devils’ boss Erik ten Hag.
As reported on Sky Sports, Dortmund will contribute £3m during Sancho’s spell in Germany, and this fee could be more depending on the club’s progression in the Champions League and Bundesliga success.
The ‘Yellow and Black’ are currently fifth in the Bundesliga standings with 27 points, six behind fourth-placed Leipzig.
Sancho’s Dortmund wages
It comes as no surprise that Sancho is instantly Dortmund’s highest earner, especially considering the wages he was earning at United.
At United, Sancho was making a reported £ 290,000 a week, a figure Dortmund was unwilling to cover in its entirety.
Details of the agreement between the two clubs have since emerged, and according to GOAL.com, Dortmund demanded United cover at least £100,000 of Sancho’s wages between January and the end of the loan deal.
Highest-paid Bundesliga players
Sancho’s exorbitant wages put him above several Bundesliga stars in the tier of high earners in the German top flight.
The highest-paid crown belongs to Harry Kane, who makes a massive €480,769 a week.
Kane joined Bayern Munich in the summer, ending his association with his boyhood club, Tottenham Hotspur.
