The continent’s biggest footballing spectacle, the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), is set to herald the stage and a host of teams are set to leave it all out on the pitches in Ivory Coast.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria are among the teams poised to leave a mark on the prestigious tournament, and many legends of the game have the three-time Cup of Nations winners as huge favourites.
However, ahead of the start of the competition, former Nigerian international and winner of the 2013 AFCON, Brown Ideye, has offered valuable advice to Jose Peseiro's team. Ideye emphasises a crucial aspect the team should focus on in preparation for the competition.

FootballThe former West Brom forward spoke on a Twitter Space with football expert Tobi Adepoju.
Emphasising the significance of discipline within the team, Ideye expressed his concerns, stating,
"We have players, but we don't have a team. This team lacks discipline and passion for the country. I'm not sure they can win in Ivory Coast.”
The 35-year-old continued to stress the need for a team meeting, suggesting,
"They should convene in Ahmed Musa's room and engage with him and Kenneth Omeruo. Musa and Omeruo can enlighten them on how we conquered Africa in 2013 — the discipline, sacrifices, and collective effort we put in when everyone had written us off."
Ideye's words serve as a rallying cry for Peseiro's team, which have been underwhelming recently, including suffering a two-nil defeat against the Syli Nationals of Guinea.
The Super Eagles are gearing up to kick off their AFCON campaign with a match against Equatorial Guinea.
