Al-Nassr superstar Sadio Mane has broken his silence on wedding jokes made after he married his longtime girlfriend, Aisha Tamba.
The two lovebirds tied the knot in a secret wedding ceremony held in Senegal last weekend.
According to Metro UK, Mane's wedding came as a surprise to many, with the star forward known to keep his social life private.
However, last Sunday, he posed for photographs at his wedding ceremony in Dakar as he quit the bachelor's club.
The wedding came after Mane became the subject of mockery on social media and in his homeland about being single for a long time.
Mane responds to wedding jokes
The two-time African Footballer of the Year gave a light-hearted quip to the wedding jokes while posing for pictures with supporters.
After being congratulated, the former Liverpool ace said with a smile:
"Thank you for the messages, except that all single people must now leave Senegal!"
Meanwhile, Mane is part of the Senegal squad that will be looking to defend the Africa Cup of Nations crown in Ivory Coast.
According to GiveMeSports, the west African nation won the continental showpiece in February 2022 after beating Egypt in the final.
The Lions of Teranga are in Group C of the 2023 edition of the AFCON alongside Gambia, Guinea, and Cameroon.
Mane's Senegal will kick off their group stage campaign against Gambia on Monday, January 15.
