Victor Osimhen’s agent, Roberto Calenda, has released an official statement condemning Makuma Jugeli over his comments about the Napoli striker’s future.
Jugeli - Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s agent - was quoted in an interview speaking about Osimhen’s future at Napoli beyond the current season, which has provoked reactions.
He indirectly accused the Nigerian of a lack of ambition, claiming he would move to Saudi Arabia because of money, something his client, Kvaratskhelia, would never do.
Per EuroFoot, Jugeli outlined the Georgian winger’s ambition beyond Naples, naming Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and Manchester City as the possible clubs he could join.
Osimhen’s agent responds to Jugeli
The striker, who is with the Nigerian national team for the Africa Cup of Nations, had earlier fired back at his teammate’s agent for lack of caution with his words.
His agent, Calenda, has now issued an official statement calling for introspect from his fellow agent.
"Everyone must look into their own home and have respect for the work of others. It is not correct to talk about the future of other players. This creates problems and misunderstandings as well as unfortunate predictions," he wrote.
"The alleged words of agent Mamuka Jugeli are bad, superficial and unacceptable. These words create problems for my player Victor Osimhen with Napoli fans without any reason or... reality."
"We have just signed a contract renewal and Victor's only wish, in addition to the Africa Cup of Nations, is to help Napoli. Everything else is rubbish."
Despite the recent renewal of his contract, it is believed that the Serie A winner will leave the Estadio Diego Armando Maradona in the summer, with Chelsea reportedly leading the race for his signature.
