Sadio Mane has been in the headlines a lot recently, with the highlight of his New Year likely his recent marriage to long-time partner, Aisha Tamba.
The Al-Nassr star, renowned for his philanthropic endeavours in his hometown and home country, has often kept his private dealings closely guarded.
However, the lavish wedding and the enchanting photographs that emerged from the celebration have thrust him firmly back into the limelight.
The ceremony attracted multiple dignitaries, including several current members of the Senegalese squad gearing up for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Almost immediately after the wedding, the former Liverpool attacker was spotted back on the football training field ahead of the competition in Ivory Coast.
Mane back training ahead of AFCON
In a video shared on social media by FIVE UK this week, the 32-year-old was spotted training alongside former Chelsea shot-stopper, Edouard Mendy.
With the competition kicking off on January 13, it appears Mane had little or no time for a honeymoon as he prepares to lead the Lions of Teranga once again.
Joining his national team's training camp just before their friendly victory against Niger, the forward appears to be in a race against time to ensure he is both physically and mentally prepared to guide his side to success.
Senegal's AFCON 2023 journey kicks off with a clash against the Gambia, followed by a meeting with 2021 bronze finishers Cameroon, and then wrapping up the group stage versus West African neighbours, Guinea.
