Nigeria kick off their tournament on Sunday, January 14, against Equatorial Guinea before a monumental showdown with hosts Cote d'Ivoire on January 18. They conclude their group matches against Guinea-Bissau on January 22, per CAF.

Speaking about the team's readiness ahead of the tournament, Musa is positive as the tournament edges closer.

“Everybody is excited, waiting for us to travel to Abidjan for the competition,” Musa said via Complete Sports. "Since the last game in Uyo, we have been talking, telling each other that it is time for us to go there and shine. We have the quality to win it, if you see the players in the 25-man squad , you can’t say we are not going to win."

Jose Peseiro’s side are favourites to go all the way. Therefore, they will be under pressure to deliver a title for their fans.

Osimhen on Nigeria's AFCON chances

Sports Brief, in a previous report, highlighted that Super Eagles of Nigeria forward Victor Osimhen has opened up on Nigeria’s chances of winning the AFCON.

The Napoli star stated it was pivotal for the team to shift focus and seal the highly-coveted AFCON crown.

The 25-year-old is expected to spearhead Nigeria’s charge to the title during the course of the tournament.

Musa gifts apartments to journalist, three others

Sports Brief earlier reported that Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa took his philanthropic gestures to a whole new level as he splashes the flats in his newly built mini-estate on four remarkable individuals.

The Nigeria forward had completed the housing facility, including two units of 3-bedroom flats, one unit of 2-bedroom apartments, and a 1-bedroom flat.

He gifted his gateman the one-bedroom apartment within the residence, while a Nigerian journalist received the 2-bedroom apartment.
