Athletic Bilbao superstar, Inaki Williams has outlined his desire ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Ivory Coast.
Williams is set to represent Ghana in the continental showpiece after he switched his allegiance to the West African country.
According to The Guardian, the 29-year-old was born in Spain to Ghanaian parents, making him eligible to play for La Roja at the international level.
However, the forward opted against that and decided to play for his parents' native country instead.
Williams' availability saw him named in the Black Stars squad that will be playing in the 2023 edition of the AFCON.
Inaki Williams outlines AFCON dream
The La Liga striker has now laid bare his dream as the AFCON gets underway.
According to him, his desire is to make his family proud during the month-long tournament.
"In Qatar, my teammates barely new me both on and off the field. But now they know that I am a hard-working and easy-going teammate and that I am here to help the team. The entire group has welcomed me with open arms," Williams said on his time with the Ghana squad.
"I am going to fulfill the dream of many of my family members, who feel very proud of me. I don’t know what emotions I am going to feel, but I am sure they will be intense," he added via Washington Post.
Ghana, who have won the continental competition on four occasions, are in Group B of the competition alongside Egypt, Cape Verde, and Mozambique.

Williams dedicates first Ghana goal to grandfather
Sports Brief also previously reported that Inaki Williams dedicated his first Ghana goal to his 91-year-old grandfather, who convinced him to play for the Black Stars.
The Athletic Bilbao star switched nationalities in 2022 to represent the country of his parents despite making a few appearances for Spain, where he was born.
