Paul Scholes has torn into Jesse Lingard as the former Manchester United forward continues to wait for a new club.
Lingard has been clubless since parting ways with Nottingham Forest at the end of his one-year contract, at the end of last season.
The England international had previously rejected a move back to West Ham United, where he enjoyed a successful loan stint in 2021, to join Steve Cooper's Forest.
He also failed to agree on a deal with Saudi Arabian club, Al-Ettifaq, after he reportedly asked for higher wages than anticipated despite having a month's trial with the Steven Gerrard-coached side.
What Scholes told Jesse Lingard
Lingard has been busy working out in the gym as he waits for new offers in a bid to revitalise his career. However, his antics did not go down well with Manchester United legend, Paul Scholes, who gave him a savage dressing down on Instagram.
"Are you just gonna [expletive] about in the gym, or are you gonna actually play football?"
Lingard had shared a couple of pictures of himself training in a Dubai gym.
Scholes retired from football as one of the best midfielders of all time, having won every available trophy under Sir Alex Ferguson. He transitioned to punditry, where he is known for his hard-hitting comments.
