FootballJesse Lingard Steps Up Personal Training in Dubai After ‘Offering’ Himself to Barcelona
- Jesse Lingard has been without a club since leaving Nottingham Forest
- The ex-Manchester United winger reportedly rejected Al-Ettifaq’s offer
- He reportedly offered himself to Barcelona before the January window
Jesse Lingard has been sweating it out on an individual training regime as he hopes to get a new club in the January transfer window.
Lingard has been without a club since leaving Nottingham Forest at the end of last season after just a year, having failed to live up to expectations.
He was linked with a couple of clubs in the summer - particularly Saudi Pro League club, Al-Ettifaq - with whom he had a month-long trial, but nothing materialised.
Per Goal, the club could not accommodate him in their international slot, which was already 10 instead of eight. His wage demand was also out of the budget for Steven Gerrard’s side.
Lingard steps up individual training
Per Sport, the English winger has offered himself to Barcelona as an option to bolster the La Liga club’s wing options until the end of the season, which they are battling on many fronts.
La Blaugrana have utilised free signings and cheap alternatives due to the financial situation at the club, but it looks improbable that they will be signing the 31-year-old.
While the rumours are circulating, Lingard moved from England to Dubai and has stepped up his individual workout regime, as seen in photos shared on his Instagram page.
Lingard came through Manchester United academy and spent 11 years in the first team, going on multiple loans before leaving at the expiration of his contract in 2022.
