According to KingFut, Klopp has backed Egypt as one of the favourites to win the tournament scheduled to take place in Ivory Coast between January 13 to February 11.

“From a personal point of view, I would be happy if they go out in the group stage but that’s probably not possible. They can go on and win it.
“So it was ‘good luck and come back healthy’. We have to deal with it and we will deal with it.”

Salah is set to miss up to one month of action for Liverpool as the 31-year-old forward captains Egypt in search of his country’s eighth AFCON title and the first of his career.

Klopp drops Salah replacement hint

Meanwhile, Jurgen Klopp has insisted Liverpool will find a way to with the absence of Mohamed Salah, with the Egyptian forward set to miss up to four weeks of action playing at the AFCON, Liverpool Echo reports.

The 31-year-old forward will miss Sunday’s FA Cup third-round trip to Arsenal, the League Cup semi-finals against Fulham, and much more depending on the Pharaoh’s progress in the competition.

While Salah is out, the remainder of Liverpool's attacking options are set to go, with Diogo Jota recently returning from a hamstring injury. Harvey Elliott is also a possible replacement for the Egyptian.

Klopp’s AFCON message to Salah

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool are preparing for life without their best player, Mohamed Salah, for a few weeks as the forward heads to the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

Klopp spoke about losing Salah and Wataru Endo (2023 Asian Cup) and joked that he wants them to be knocked out early.

Liverpool face Arsenal in a mouth-watering FA Cup clash on Sunday, January 7, a game where they could've used Salah in a game they want to win.
